The Waverley Inn

Situated a mere 5 minutes walk from the railway station, this is one of those quiet hotels that can be booked on Booking.com. We stayed at this property for six days and had a very relaxing time there. While parking for our car wasn’t an issue, it is advisable to park towards the rear of the property, as there’s more room to clean your car if you so desire. Check-in was a breeze and although we got a not so good family room on the ground floor the first day (the bathroom had no door to the shower stall, the mirror was affixed on the opposite wall as compared to the washbasin - try shaving that way, and the passageway was very noisy with guests moving about and talking loudly late at night!) Manager Robert was very accommodating and moved us to a much better room on the first floor. Room 21 accorded us better views, the bathroom was a delight (if that word can be used!) and the beds were very clean. It was also very quiet. All in all, a very comfortable room. The Reception cum dining area was very clean with Roberts personally helping clean-up. The included breakfast unfortunately was “continental” that apparently means that no cooked food items can be served. So no eggs, no bacon , no baked beans or any food items that require any cooking. Also, apart from breakfast, the hotel doesn’t serve any meals - no cooking space remember? Keep that in mind while booking. If only they served a normal or regular breakfast, this is a 5 Star property. All in all, it’s a quiet place even for families with Robert the perfect host.

I had originally booked for the Royal Hotel, after a long day on the road driving over 12hrs I was absolutely exhausted. When I got to the Royal there was a sign requesting you come to the Waverley Inn to check in. I was then informed due to renovations my booking would be transfered to the Waverley Inn. (As I approached this place I was already thinking I wish I'd booked here.) The lady that checked me in was really really helpful, advised me where everything was locally. And said I was welcome to continental breakfast. Honestly such a nice helpful person I really hope the Waverley Inn is a huge success because people like this are great in hospitality there's not enough people of this manner and personality in the industry. I highly recommend this place, great value for money as well. And cracking town centre location with loads of parking. 100% I'll be back here if am in the area, and I'll advise others that do the same job as me of this place.

Spacious room. Had parking available for hotel guests. Used it for a night pit stop during our Scotland road trip. Very basic set-up; but high value for money; as the nightly rates are super low. Decent locations; with a few restaurants nearby. Very basic breakfast, but then with the low Room Rate, was not expecting much. No toiletries provided (hand wash, shampoo, etc.), was told by reception that they don't provide it. Internet did not work. Overall, Decent stay. Good for an overnight pit stop.

Great place to stay. Staff are brilliant. Ethan was very helpful giving me directions around Dingwall . Great service please keep up the good service.

Great accommodation to suit our needs with our dog. Very helpful staff. The room was a great size and well furnished with a great shower. Continental breakfast was very good, even though it was busy, more products were taken out. Housekeeping lets it down, cutting corners by not dusting, hoovering and bathroom needed a thorough clean.

This place is a great value. Yes, the rooms are dated, but you can’t argue with the price and location. The water pressure in the shower was great, beds were decent, room had a lot of space. Robert at the front desk also went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us out.

There were 8 of us split between 3 rooms. The downstairs family rooms were nice. I was in the upstairs room. The lock on the door looked like it was tampered with but maybe the old lock was bigger so a gap was left. The door slammed if you didn't hold it and close it. I think it disturbed other guests. The dining area was nice and breakfast good. There were lots of things to walk to. I think it is staffed 24 hours so they were not concerned that we were arriving late. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed our one-night stay here. Stephen and Camila were very friendly and helpful, providing us with extra bedding items. The room was spacious and everything worked; however, the mattress on the double bed was a bit worn, and extra bedding was needed to lessen the feel of the bed springs; also there was no unit for hanging clothes. The breakfast was good. Parking was safe. An added bonus was Lilly the cat doing her stretching exercises in the window!
